EHIME (TR) – Kochi Prefectural Police have made a third arrest in the abandonment of a body believed to be a male acquaintance in the town of Tobe, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 7).
Yuki Kubo, a 26-year-old construction worker, is alleged to have worked together with Mizuho Sakoda and Eiji Hatake, both 41, to bury a body believed to be a male acquaintance, aged in his 40s from the town of Tosa, Kochi Prefecture, in a mountainous area around June 25 of last year.
On Monday, Sakoda and Hatake turned themselves over to the Kochi-Higashi Police Station. During questioning, the two men revealed the location of the body, which was found by police on Tuesday afternoon. According to TBS News (Oct. 6), the body was entombed in a layer of concrete.
The suspects, all of whom are from Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, have been charged with abandoning a corpse.
Police are now working to confirm the identity of the body and apply murder charges to the suspects.
