TOKYO (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Thursday busted an operation that sold uncensored pornographic DVDs from an apartment in Yokohama, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Apr. 4).
At 4:20 p.m., officers from the Midori Police Station seized 35,000 discs and dubbing equipment from inside a one-room apartment in Aoba Ward.
Manager Yoshio Yamada, 31, and three employees were taken into custody on charges of possession of obscene material with an intent to sell.
The suspects have reportedly admitted to the allegations.
By law, films available in Japan are required to have genitalia properly censored.
