HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have arrested a 32-year-old woman in the stabbing death of three family members in Asahikawa City, reports TV Asahi (Oct. 6).
On September 13, Yukari Mizonokuchi is alleged to have stabbed death of her mother, 55-year-old Yumiko, to death with a knife inside the residence they shared, located in the Kamui area.
Mizonokuchi, who has been charged with murder, denies the allegations, telling police that she “does not remember” the incident.
After receiving a call from the suspect’s father, officers arriving at the residence found Yumiko lying in the entrance with stab wounds. She was confirmed dead at the scene. On the second floor of the same building, police discovered the bodies of the suspect’s grandfather, 80, and grandmother, 78, collapsed with stab wounds. They were also confirmed dead.
Mizonokuchi was found on the second floor with injuries to both arms. She was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Upon her release from the hospital on Wednesday, she was taken into custody by police, who plan to re-arrest her in the deaths of her grandparents.
