HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have launched a murder case after three persons were found stabbed to death and another injured at a family residence in Asahikawa City, reports Nippon News Network (Sept. 13).
At around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency services received a call from a man, 62, who said that his wife “was collapsed and the top half of her body covered in blood.”
Officers arriving at the first floor of the residence, located in the Kamui area, found the woman, 55, lying in the entrance with stab wounds. She was confirmed dead at the scene.
On the second floor of the same building, police also found the bodies of the woman’s father, 80, and his wife, 78, collapsed with stab wounds. They were also confirmed dead.
Police also found another woman, the elderly couple’s granddaughter, aged in her 30s, on the second floor with injuries to both arms. She was transported to a nearby hospital.
According to TBS News (Sept. 13), a weapon has not been found. As a part of the investigation, police intend to question the woman in her 30s, who lives on the second floor along with her grandparents, once she recovers from her injuries.
Recently, police have been consulted on a number of occasions about problems arising between members of the family.
The man who telephoned emergency services lives with his wife on the first floor. He made the grisly discovery after returning home.
