GIFU (TR) – Gifu Prefectural Police are investigating a case in which a man dressed in women’s clothing stole money from a woman in Ogaki City but returned it, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Feb. 7).
At 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, a man wearing a black skirt and tights came up from behind the woman, 31, who was walking on a street in the Kuriyacho area, and grabbed her arm. While displaying a knife, he then forced her onto the grounds of a nearby Shinto shrine and demanded money.
After she handed over her purse, the man removed 4,000 yen in cash from inside. When she asked for the money back, he returned it and abruptly fled the scene.
The woman was not injured in the incident.
According to the victim, the man was aged in his 30s, stood around 170 centimeters tall and had shoulder-length brown hair.
