FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police have re-arrested a 44-year-old man in the theft of hundreds of pairs of women’s underwear in Fukuoka City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (July 19).

Sometime between January 5 and 10, Ko Fujinobu, a company employee, allegedly trespassed into a 27-year-old woman’s apartment, located in Minami Ward, and stole 15 undergarments.

Fujinobu, who has been charged with trespassing and theft, admits to the charges. “Entering the home of someone else at random is thrilling,” the suspect is quoted by officers from the Minami Police Station, “and that’s how I started stealing underwear.”

A search of the home of the suspect revealed approximately 870 pairs of women’s underwear, all of which, the suspect said, were stolen.

Police first arrested Fujinobu for attempting to break into a different woman’s residence on June 26.
