KYOTO (TR) – Kyoto Prefectural Police arrested a man and his brother for allegedly trespassing into a residence of a 35-year-old woman and stealing her underwear, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 8).

On April 30 at 5:40 p.m., Taku Matsunaga, 33, allegedly entered the woman’s second-floor residence, located in Fushimi Ward, and stole 15 pieces of women’s underwear (valued at 29,000 yen) and 25,000 yen in cash.

In committing the crime, Taku climbed over a fence and entered the residence via a balcony as his brother, 28-year-old Kendo, served as a look-out.

Taku, who works for a demolition company, admits to the charges. Kendo, however, told police that he was asked by his brother to accompany him. “I didn’t know he was a thief,” says the suspect, who is employed in the same trade.

When the woman returned home, she noticed that the interior had been ransacked. The two suspects became persons of interest for police after the examination of security camera footage.
