SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a charred corpse on vacant land in Saitama City, reports Fuji News Network (Mar. 19).
At around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, a passerby to the property, located in Urawa Ward, alerted police about “a person on fire.”
Police arriving at the scene found the body, likely that of a man, lying face-up. With the damage to the body being extensive, his approximate age is not known.
The body did not exhibit any external wounds. As well, no flammable liquid containers were found at the scene.
Police are treating the case as a suicide or the result of foul play.
