AICHI (TR) – There was something in the air.
Aichi Prefectural Police using a bit of aromatic assistance busted a marijuana grow house in Konan City earlier this month, reports Nagoya TV (June 24).
According to the police, Shuhei Kanemoto, 25, and Fuya Aoyama, 28, a store clerk from Okazaki City, are suspected of cultivating one marijuana plant at Kanemoto’s home on June 4 with the intention of selling it.
Police did not reveal whether the suspects admit to violating the Cannabis Cultivation Control Act.
A dome-shaped tent believed to be for cultivation purposes was set up on the second floor of Kanemoto’s home. Police discovered 43 other plants believed to be marijuana on the premises.
The incident came to light after a report. “It smells like marijuana,” the tipster said.
Police are now investigating the sales network for the contraband.
