AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police on Wednesday busted the Nagoya branch of a nationwide escort service on prostitution charges, reports the Sankei Shimbun (May 28).

Officers arrested the manager of the Nagoya branch of “delivery health” club Grand Opera, 44-year-old Kazunari Seki, and four employees for allegedly supplying sexual services in violation of the Anti-Prostitution Law between March and April.

All five suspects, including male drivers used to deliver female employees to male customers at love hotels in Nagoya, have denied the allegations.

According to police, four women, aged between 19 and 27, participated in the alleged crimes. “Since we are paid high wages, we must ensure that the customer is satisfied,” one of the women is quoted by police.

For a single session at Grand Opera, which has more than 40 women on its roster in Nagoya, fees range between 36,000 and 70,000 yen for the first 90 minutes.

The chain also has outlets in Tokyo, Yokohama and Fukuoka. The Nagoya branch opened in 2006.
