FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police on Friday arrested an organized crime member in Kitakyushu City for possession of stimulant drugs after a traffic accident, reports TV Asahi (Dec. 25).
At around midnight, police found nine small bags of stimulant drugs in the possession of Katsumi Kikuchi, a 58-year-old member of an affiliate gang of the Kudo-kai, after a car he was driving was involved in an accident with a taxi in Kokurakita Ward.
Kikuchi denies the allegations.
The suspect had been stopped for routine questioning by police regarding his car’s registration. He then bolted from the scene and collided with the taxi at an intersection.
Police are now seeking to apply further charges related to the use of stimulant drugs to the suspect.
