Suicide note found in Osaka leads to discovery of corpse in freezer in Shiga

SHIGA (TR) – Shiga Prefectural Police working off a tip from Osaka Prefecture have arrested three persons following the discovery of a corpse inside a freezer in a residence in Nagahama City, reports Mainichi Broadcasting System (Apr. 3)

On Wednesday, police accused Koichiro Iwase, 72, his son, 49-year-old Tatsuhiko, and 62-year-old Hidenori Nonaka, of abandoning a corpse.

The body is believed to be that of a woman. The Nagahama Police Station did not reveal whether the suspects admit to the allegations.

Prefectural police will conduct an autopsy to determine the identity of the body and the and circumstances surrounding the person’s death.

The discovery was made at the home of Iwase in Yotsuzukacho that he shares with Tatsuhiko, a Nagahama Summary Court clerk. Nonaki is a part-time cleaner from Higashi Ward, Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.

Shiga police began investigating the case after receiving information from Osaka Prefectural Police that a suicide note was found at the of scene of a death that occurred in Osaka Prefecture on Tuesday. The note stated that the suspects were involved in the abandoning of the body found in the freezer.
