OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police working off a tip on Tuesday found the bodies of a man and woman at an apartment complex in Ikeda City, reports TBS News (May 21).
At around 11:50 a.m., a person from a store called police to report that they had taken custody of a 5-year-old girl with stab wounds to her back. The caller said, “She told us, ‘My father and mother had a fight, they had a knife and one of them was injured.'”
Shortly thereafter, officers found the man and woman collapsed and bleeding in a bedroom of an apartment in the complex.
The woman had stab wounds to her stomach. Meanwhile, the man had stab wounds to his neck and stomach. A knife was found lying next to him. They were confirmed dead on the spot.
Dead several days
Subsequent interviews with police revealed that the state of decomposition of the bodies indicated that the man and woman likely died several days before the discovery. As well, the woman’s left finger had a defensive wound, the type that occurs when putting up a fight, police said.
Police also said that the stab wounds to the girl’s back appeared to have been from a few days prior as well.
Police are now working quickly to confirm the identities of the persons and the circumstances that led to the incident.
