FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police have arrested the president of a used car dealership in Koga City and five others for allegedly assaulting and seriously injuring a former employee.
The incident took place between around 7:00 p.m. on November 26 and just after 9 a.m. two days later at the company’s office, police said, according to NHK (Nov. 28).
During that time, Yoji Terasaki, the 49-year-old president of the dealership, and five employees, aged in their 20s to 40s, allegedly confined the 41-year-old former employee on the second floor by tying his hands and feet with cable ties.
They also allegedly assaulted him with a metal bat, causing serious injuries including the breaking of a bone under one of his eyes.
The police have not revealed whether the six have admitted to the crimes, citing such information as a hindrance to the investigation.
During the assault, the suspects had a lookout. When he fell asleep, the former employee sent an email to his family asking for help. Police who rushed to the scene after receiving a call from a family member arrested the six people who were there.
According to the police, there was a financial dispute between the former employee and the company. Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
