KYOTO (TR) – Kyoto Prefectural Police have arrested a self-proclaimed artist of French nationality for allegedly drawing on a poster for a House of Representatives election candidate.
At around 12:20 pm on October 21, the unnamed man, 41, is suspected of using a pen to draw what resembled a beard on a poster for a candidate in the Kyoto 1st District of the House of Representatives election in Nakagyo Ward, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (Oct. 31).
Upon his arrest on suspicion of causing property damage, the Frenchman admitted to the charges.
A police officer on patrol discovered the graffiti and identified the suspect after an examination of security camera footage.
