CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a 38-year-old male staff member at a high school in Ichikawa City over the alleged groping of high school girl Yachiyo City last year, reports NHK (June 10).
At around 10:10 p.m. on December 15, 2023, Yuki Toeda, a 38-year-old lab assistant at Ichikawa Technical High School, used his bicycle to approach the girl from behind as she walked home and grope her chest.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of non-consensual indecent assault on Monday, Toeda admitted to the allegations. “I did it because I was emotionally angry. I was drunk, so I groped her breast,” he said.
After receiving a report from the student’s family, police began investigating the incident. Toeda surfaced as a person of interest in the case after an analysis of security camera footage.
Toeda did not know the student. Police are currently investigating the details of the incident.
Regarding the arrest of the staff member, the Chiba Prefectural Board of Education commented, “We take this very seriously. We would like to verify the facts.”
