TOKYO (TR) – A well-placed source told Sankei Sports (Mar. 25) on Monday that Fuji TV announcer Risa Kishimoto, 25, will be leaving the station later this year.
The departure by the announcer is the third for the network this month. Though the Masahiro Nakai scandal over sexual misbehavior is ongoing, Kishimoto did not convey that there is a connection to her decision.
According to the source, Kishimoto has been interested in working in corporate management both in Japan and overseas for about a year and will embark on a new path.
Kishimoto explained through the station, “I have decided that in order to absorb more flexibly and acquire deeper knowledge, it would be better to put an end to my work as an announcer for now.”
She also expressed her gratitude for her time at the company, which began in April 2022. She vowed, “After resigning, I will register with another company and work hard to fulfil my goals.”

The source assured that the resignation is not a consequence of Nakai’s so-called “woman trouble,” whereby he acknowledged engaging inappropriate behavior with a female employee in the entertainment industry.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that announcers Yumi Nagashima, 33, and Keiko Tsubakihara, 39, would depart this spring. They, too, said the termination of their employment at Fuji is not connected to Nakai.
Kishimoto appears on “Miracle Experience! Unbelievable.” Her last show will be April 16.
