KANAGAWA (TR) – Police in Yokohama City have arrested a 54-year-old man after he allegedly threw his own saliva onto the bare legs of young women at a shopping center, reports TV Kanagawa (Oct. 27).
The suspect, a contract worker residing in Minami Ward, was taken into custody on Tuesday, according to police.
Investigators allege that in May 2024, the man targeted a 20-year-old university student and two high school girls, aged 17 and 18, at a commercial facility in Nishi Ward. The suspect allegedly spat into his own hand and then hurled the saliva directly at the victims’ legs as he walked past them.
The bizarre incidents came to light after the victims reported the encounters to a local police box. Authorities were subsequently able to identify the suspect by analyzing security camera footage from the facility.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of assault, the man fully admitted to the allegations.
“I get excited when I see the bare legs of high school girls,” the suspect told investigators. “I get even more excited when my bodily fluids get on them.”
Police are continuing their investigation to determine if there are other victims.
