TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has raided a bar owned by a 36-year-old man arrested for dumping his girlfriend’s body in the mountains of Miyagi Prefecture, with the suspect offering shifting excuses for his trip up north, reports TBS News (Oct. 6).
Takuya Miura is accused of abandoning the corpse of his 25-year-old girlfriend, Maho Muroga, in a mountainous area of Kurihara City on September 28. Police executed a search warrant at Miura’s bar on Tuesday.
During voluntary questioning prior to his arrest, Miura offered conflicting explanations for his journey from his home in Nerima Ward to Miyagi Prefecture.

Initially, he told investigators he made the trip to “buy alcohol for the bar.” However, he later changed his story, claiming the purpose of the trip was “to visit a hot spring.”
Investigative sources revealed that Miura did, in fact, visit a hot spring facility in Kurihara City —but only stayed for a mere 10 minutes. Police suspect this brief stop was a calculated move to establish an alibi and cover his tracks immediately after disposing of Muroga’s body.
Miura continues to deny the allegations. Tokyo police are analyzing evidence seized during the raid as they work to unravel the full details leading up to the young woman’s death.
