TOKYO (TR) – A 55-year-old unemployed man in custody for drugging and raping a girl in a karaoke parlor has been referred to prosecutors on additional charges.
Naomichi Moribe is accused of committing indecent acts against the teen in 2025 and filming the assault on his smartphone.
According to Tokyo police, Moribe targeted the victim after she posted about her personal troubles on social media. When they met, he allegedly handed her a mixture of prescription cough syrup and alcohol, telling her, “These are supplements to make you feel better.”
Once the drugs took effect and the girl fell into a stupor, Moribe allegedly carried out the assault.
Investigators revealed that Moribe was known as “Sensei” (Teacher) among vulnerable young girls seeking advice online. He has already been arrested and indicted for similar sexual assaults against multiple other teen girls.
During questioning, Moribe has remained silent. Police suspect he has routinely used the same predatory tactics to drug and assault young victims and are continuing their investigation.
In July, police first accused Moribe of drugging and raping a girl in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward. In that case, which took place in May, the suspect allegedly plied the third-year student, 15, with alcohol and over-the-counter cough medicine before sexually assaulting her.
