TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 28-year-old former comedian after he allegedly molested an intoxicated woman on a street in Shinjuku Ward, reports Fuji News Network (Aug. 20).
On July 9, Takuya Marumo approached a woman in her 20s who was intoxicated and sitting on the ground. He is accused of groping her breasts and committing other indecent acts before leaving bodily fluids on her clothing.
Following the assault, Marumo fled the scene on a bicycle. However, investigators were able to identify and track him down by analyzing footage from nearby security cameras.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of indecent assault and property damage, Marumo admitted to the allegations. Police are currently investigating whether he is involved in any other unreported crimes.
Prior to his arrest, Marumo was active as an entertainer and had competed as a contestant in the prestigious “M-1 Grand Prix” comedy competition in 2023.
