SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police have re-arrested a 45-year-old former soccer coach on suspicion of violating child pornography laws after he allegedly filmed his middle school students during a training camp, reports the Mainichi Shimbun (Aug. 17).
Shinichi Nemoto, an unemployed resident of Hidaka City who has already been indicted on separate assault charges, is accused of using a smartphone to take tosatsu (voyeur) footage of two male students from Tochigi Prefecture. The incident occurred between January 10 and 11 inside a bathhouse changing room at a guesthouse in Kamisu City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of violating child pornography laws on August 17, Nemoto admitted to the allegations. “I secretly filmed them to satisfy my sexual desires,” he was quoted by police.
According to investigators, the suspect had been working as a coach and staff member for various youth soccer clubs inside and outside the prefecture under the false name “Masatoshi Asano.”
Following the confiscation of his smartphone, police discovered more than 300 photographs and videos featuring boys. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further alleged crimes.
