FUKUOKA (TR) – Police in Omuta City have arrested a 15-year-old junior high school student on suspicion of arson and attempted murder after he allegedly set his family home ablaze in a bid to kill his parents, reports TBS News (Aug. 18).
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning, the teen allegedly spread a gasoline-like liquid inside the residence and ignited it while his parents were asleep. The resulting fire completely destroyed the property.
The boy’s father suffered burns in the blaze and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Upon questioning, the teenage suspect admitted to the allegations.
“I was stressed out because I hated my father’s daily violence,” the boy told investigators.
