MIE (TR) – Mie Prefectural Police have arrested a 38-year-old public elementary school teacher on suspicion of possessing child pornography on his computer, local authorities announced, reports Kyodo News (Aug. 6).
Keisuke Suzuki, a temporary lecturer residing in the Kawage area of Tsu City, is accused of violating the child prostitution and pornography ban. On Thursday morning, Suzuki allegedly possessed a personal computer storing 10 nude images of girls believed to be under the age of 18 for the purpose of satisfying his sexual curiosity.
According to police, the investigation was initiated after receiving a tip in February from the U.S.-based National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The organization flagged that Suzuki had been transmitting nude images of minors through a social networking site.
Officers are currently working to determine the total number of illicit images saved on the device, how they were acquired, and the identities of the victims.
