CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of threatening a middle school girl with a box cutter and sexually assaulting her, reports Fuji News Network (Aug. 7).
Hideo Akita, a self-proclaimed part-time worker, is accused of pointing a blade resembling a box cutter at the teenage girl and subjecting her to sexual assault in the prefecture on the night of July 16.
The two had no prior acquaintance. The incident came to light immediately after the attack when a parent of the victim dialed 110 to alert authorities.
Police have withheld further details regarding the exact location and specific circumstances leading up to the crime.
During questioning, Akita admitted to the allegations. “I couldn’t control my sexual desires,” the suspect reportedly told investigators.
