TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have re-arrested a 54-year-old unemployed man for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old high school girl he met through social media, reports Jiji Press (Aug. 7).
Naomichi Moribe, a resident of Yokohama City’s Kanagawa Ward, has remained silent during police questioning regarding the allegations of non-consensual sexual intercourse.
According to police, the incident occurred on August 18 of last year inside a karaoke parlor in Chiba Prefecture. Moribe allegedly provided the teen with alcohol and drugs, inducing a state of stupor before sexually assaulting her and filming the act on his smartphone.
Investigators revealed that Moribe specifically targeted vulnerable girls online. Knowing the victim had a history of drug overdoses, he allegedly lured her to the meeting by sending a message that read, “You can get the same experience as an overdose by mixing supplements.”
The arrest is part of a widening investigation. Police have already confirmed at least 10 victims aged 15 or younger linked to the suspect. A forensic analysis of Moribe’s seized smartphone uncovered approximately 770 obscene videos featuring suspected minors, prompting police to investigate the possibility of further victims.
Moribe had previously been arrested twice since June on suspicion of non-consensual indecency involving other young girls. The latest charges came to light during the ongoing analysis of his confiscated devices.
