TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 60-year-old cram school operator for allegedly pressing his lower body against a female commuter and leaving bodily fluid on her clothes aboard a crowded train.
Jotaro Nomata, who runs a juku (cram school) in the capital, is facing charges of non-consensual indecency. According to police, the incident occurred this past June aboard a JR Sobu Line train traveling between Shin-Koiwa and Kinshicho stations.
Upon his arrest, Nomata admitted to the allegations. “I did it for sexual excitement,” he told investigators, before adding, “I do it once or twice a month.”
Nomata allegedly targeted the woman during the rush hour commute, pressing his groin against her before soiling her clothing with his bodily fluid.
Investigators revealed that station security camera footage captured Nomata loitering for approximately an hour, apparently prowling the platform to scout for a potential target before boarding the train.
Given his confession, police suspect there are multiple other victims and are continuing their investigation into his past activities.
