Okayama University dean arrested for filming up teen’s skirt: ‘I wanted to film women’s legs’

OKAYAMA (TR) – Police in Okayama City have arrested a 62-year-old professor and dean at Okayama University for allegedly filming under the skirt of a teenage girl at a shopping center, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (June 4).

Hideki Yamamoto, Dean of the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University, was caught red-handed at around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Upon his arrest for violating the Law Banning the Taking of Sexually Explicit Photographs, Yamamoto fully admitted to the allegations.

“I secretly filmed her to satisfy my own desires. I wanted to film women’s legs,” the suspect told police.

According to the Okayama Chuo Police Station, Yamamoto approached the teenager from behind while riding an escalator at a commercial facility in Kita Ward and used his smartphone to take tosatsu (voyeur) footage up her skirt.

A security guard who noticed Yamamoto acting suspiciously witnessed the incident and immediately dialed police. Officers rushed to the scene, inspected the professor’s smartphone, and discovered the illicit video saved on the device.
