TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Gunma Prefecture on suspicion of trespassing at a residence in Koganei City, a property that has repeatedly been targeted by unrelated robbery rings, reports TBS News (June 1).
Gouki Kawano, a resident of Takasaki City, Gunma, is accused of entering the premises of the Tokyo home shortly after 8:00 p.m. on May 12 with the intent to commit a robbery.
Security camera footage captured around the time of the incident showed a suspicious individual dressed entirely in black prowling the property.

The Koganei residence has been plagued by a bizarre string of break-ins and suspicious activity since the beginning of May. On May 24, police arrested three other individuals on suspicion of preparing to rob the exact same house.
However, investigators believe Kawano has no connection to the previously arrested trio and was operating as part of a completely separate robbery group targeting the home.
According to investigative sources, two other unidentified individuals are believed to have been at the scene with Kawano. Police are currently tracking their whereabouts.
