Man’s decaying corpse found tangled in electrical cord in Osaka home

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found tangled in an electrical cord inside a locked residence in Higashiosaka City on Saturday.

According to police, two home safes were also discovered completely empty, reports Mainichi Broadcasting System (May 24).

At approximately 1:15 p.m., a male relative of the resident of the residence, located in the Hanazono Higashimachi area, contacted police to request a welfare check. The relative stated that he had been unable to reach the elderly resident for some time.

Arriving at the scene, emergency responders found the doors to the house secured. Firefighters broke a window to gain entry and discovered the fully clothed and decaying body of a male of unknown age in the second-floor living room.

According to police, an electrical cord was entangled around the corpse.

Adding to the mystery, investigators found a wallet containing cash left behind in the living room, yet two safes kept in the residence were found unlocked and entirely empty.

Police are currently working to confirm the identity of the deceased and will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death as they investigate the strong possibility of foul play.
