AICHI (TR) – Police in Nagoya City are searching for a woman with long pink hair who held up a taxi driver with a scissor-like weapon and robbed him of cash late on Friday night.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. on a street in Amazukacho, Nishi Ward. The female passenger suddenly thrust the bladed object at the 34-year-old male driver and threatened him, demanding, “Hand over 100,000 yen.”
The driver handed over approximately 5,000 yen in cash to the woman. She then fled the scene on foot without paying her 3,200 yen fare for a ride that originated in the Nishiki 3-chome district of Naka Ward.
The driver did not sustain any injuries during the altercation.
Police have launched a robbery investigation and are currently tracking the suspect’s whereabouts. She is described as being in her 60s, roughly 160 centimeters tall, and of slender build, with distinctive long pink hair.
