NARA (TR) — Police have arrested the 56-year-old director of a dental clinic in Nara City after he allegedly hid a camera in the staff locker room to catch a glimpse of his female employees in a state of undress, reports Kansai TV (Apr. 29).
The suspect is accused of violating the prefecture’s nuisance prevention ordinance by placing a pen-shaped spy camera on top of a locker in the clinic’s changing room on April 27.
According to police, the scheme unraveled when several female employees noticed the hidden device. Upon being confronted, the clinic director snatched the camera away, stating, “This is mine,” and hastily deleted the recorded data.
The staff members subsequently reported the incident to police. During questioning, the dentist fully admitted to the allegations, telling investigators, “I wanted to see the female employees’ underwear.”
Police are continuing to investigate the suspect’s background to determine if he has committed similar offenses in the past.
