AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police arrested a male Turkish national after the vehicle he was driving slammed into a home in Tsushima City during a police chase early Sunday, reports Tokai TV (Apr. 26).
According to police, at around 5:20 a.m., a patrol car on duty spotted the vehicle swerving on a road in Kamimoricho and signaled it to stop.
However, the car suddenly accelerated and crashed into the vacant house about 150 meters ahead.
After the crash, the driver, 27-year-old Furkan Al-Muhammad, allegedly grabbed a police officer by the chest.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of obstruction of official duties, Al-Muhammad partially denied the allegations. He said, “It’s true that I grabbed his chest, but I did it because my body hurt and I wanted help.”
