HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police have arrested a male security guard who is suspected of entering a woman’s apartment building in Kobe City using the so-called “tailgating” method in order to grope her, reports TV Asahi (Apr. 23).
At around 3:00 a.m. on April 3, Kenta Ueda, 35, allegedly hugged the woman, aged in her 30s, who lives in the apartment building in Suma Ward.
During questioning on suspicion of indecent assault without consent, Ueda admitted to the charges. “I hugged her in the elevator,” he said. “I happened to see her, thought she was beautiful, and called out to her.”
Prior to the incident, Ueda is believed to have tailgated into the building, whereby he followed closely behind her in order to slip through the building’s automatic lock system undetected.
Police identified Ueda by using security camera footage.
Police are investigating whether the suspect has carried out any other offenses.
