YAMAGATA (TR) – Yamagata Prefectural Police have arrested a 61-year-old woman in connection with a robbery that occurred last year at a home that doubles as a restaurant in Nagai City, reports Nippon News Network (Feb. 27).
On Friday, police accused Satomi Takahashi, of no known occupation, of trespassing and robbery resulting in injury..
Early on December 25, Takahashi is suspected of breaking into the and repeatedly punching injuring the resident, a woman in her 70s, in the face.
The suspect then demanded money in an attempt to rob her.
Police have not revealed whether Takahashi admits to the allegations, citing concerns that such information would hinder the investigation.

The victim, who was sleeping on the second floor of the residence before the incident, suffered bruises to her face and other injuries that took approximately two weeks to heal.
According to local residents, Takahashi lives across the street from the crime scene.
Police identified Takahashi as a suspect after initiating checkpoints and analyzing security camera footage.
