Saitama systems engineer dragged woman from motorcycle after theft of bag

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a male office worker from Saitama Prefecture for attempting to snatch a woman’s bag using a motorcycle stolen from a bento shop last year.

The woman was dragged her for more than 100 meters, causing serious injuries, reports TBS News (Feb. 17).

Last December, Takahiro Ouchi, a systems engineer from Wako City, Saitama, used the motorcycle approach the woman, aged in her 30s, as she walked hom on a street in Ota Ward.

After the woman held on to the bag, he dragged her along the pavement for approximately 120 meters, inflicting serious injuries.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of robbery and assault, Ouchi admitted to the allegations. “I was supposed to go on a company business trip, but I had spent all my money on horse racing and pachinko, so I really needed money that day.”

According to police, the motorcycle was stolen from a bento shop in Tokyo last August.
