Pakistani national suspected of groping woman in Sapporo

HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have arrested 34-year-old male Pakistani national for allegedly groping a woman he did not know at a bar in Sapporo City last year, reports HBC TV (Feb. 13).

At a little after 1:00 a.m. on August 31, Sheraz Khan, 34, a Pakistani used car dealer, allegedly touched the upper and lower body of the woman, aged in her 20s, in the bar, located in the Susikino red-light district.

Upon his arrest arrested on suspicion of indecent assault without consent on February 13, Khan, who lives living in the town of Tobetsu, denied the allegations. He said, “I don’t know what I did.”

According to police, the woman was alone and waiting to meet up with an acquaintance before the incident. When Kang approached her, he embraced her, pulled her arm and committed indecent acts on her.

After the incident, the victim went to a nearby police station to report that a “foreigner had molested” her

After interviewing the woman, police identified Khan from security camera footage and other sources.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
