TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested the Chinese driver of a Lamborghini for allegedly crashing the vehicle into a patrol car in Chuo Ward on Sunday and fleeing the scene, reports Nippon News Network (Feb. 10).
According to police, Liu Changran, 41, is suspected of crashing his Lamborghini into the patrol car stopped to handle a traffic accident at Tsukiji Ohashi Bridge at just after 5:00 a.m.
The incident seriously injured two male police officers. A male sergeant in his 50s suffered a broken neck, and a male police lieutenant in his 40s broke his hip.
Liu was indicted on suspicion of dangerous driving resulting in death or injury shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

During questioning, Liu reportedly admitted to the charges. “There is no doubt that I crashed into a [patrol] car. I was injured and left the scene to go to the hospital.”
Snow fell throughout the capital that morning. At the time, four other accidents believed to have been caused by snow occurred at the scene, involving eight vehicles. A foreign woman in her 20s who was also in the Lamborghini suffered a fractured pelvis.
