TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a member of the music duo Def Tech on suspicion of possession of marijuana, reports TBS News (Feb. 4).
On Monday, the Narcotics Control Division found several grams of marijuana at the residence of Yuki Nishimiya, a 45-year-old member of Def Tech who performs under the name Micro, at his home in Shibuya Ward.
The Narcotics Control Division has not revealed whether he admits to violating the Narcotics Control Act. He was indicted on Wednesday morning.
Def Tech formed in 2001 by Hawaiian native Shen and Nishimiya. One of their hits includes “My Way” from their first mini-album “Def Tech,” released in 2005. The duo is scheduled to hold a concert to commemorate their 20th anniversary at Nippon Budokan in the capital on February 8.
Nishimiya’s agency stated, “We are currently unable to contact him, and are in the process of confirming the facts.”
