Twice’s Mina appears at lighting ceremony in Omotesando

TOKYO (TR) – To mark the start of the illumination of a trendy shopping district in Shibuya Ward, Mina from the popular K-pop group Twice made an appearance at its lighting ceremony on Monday.

Approximately 900,000 LEDs were simultaneously lit up on 154 zelkova trees in Omotesando, stretching for roughly one kilometer between the Jingumae and Omotesando intersections.

When Mina pressed the light button, the zelkova-lined street was bathed in a champagne gold light. Mina said with a smile, “I was able to see this wonderful town and it will become a memory.”

The illuminations is organized by the Harajuku Omotesando Keyaki Association, a promotion association for the shopping district. The lights will be on from sunset to 10 p.m. and run until December 28.
