KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Friday arrested a man and a woman after the discovery a corpse under an apartment in Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, reports TBS News (Aug. 9).
On Friday, investigators working off a tip entered the residence and found the partially skeletal body under the floorboards.
The occupants of the unit are Ryo Ogura, 44, and Yui Okayasu, 38, both of no known occupation. Police later accused them of burying and abandoning the body in early May last year. Police did not reveal whether the suspects admit to the allegations.
According to police, a third person, a man aged in his 50s, also lived in the unit. He was reported missing in August of last year.
During voluntary questioning, Ogura and Okayasu both acknowledged “burying” the third man.
Police are currently working to confirm the identity of the body and the cause of death.
