TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police this week initiated a sweep of the capital’s red-light districts for aggressive street touting and operation of illegal sex clubs, reports Fuji News Network (Nov. 30).

In a coordinated effort targeting 17 entertainment districts, including the Kabukicho area of Shinjuku Ward and Minato Ward’s Shimbashi, metropolitan police took 30 Chinese nationals into custody for persistently promoting massage parlors to pedestrians — a violation of the citywide ordinance regarding being a public nuisance — and operating illegal sex clubs.

In Shimbashi, a 52-year-old Chinese female was taken into custody early Wednesday morning for grabbing the hands of pedestrians and moving close to their bodies while promoting a massage parlor.
