HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police have arrested a 19-year-old boy for killing his grandparents in Ako City, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (Feb. 5).

On Friday afternoon, police found the body of Nobuo Toyosumi, 69, and that of his wife, 64-year-old Hatsumi, collapsed inside the first-floor living room of the residence, located in the Nishiune area.

Both bodies exhibited several wounds to the head and back consistent with a stabbing. People believe both persons died as early as two days before the discovery of their bodies.

The boy, who has been charged with murder, admits to the allegations. He added that he used a weapon to commit the crime but police have not not yet been able to locate it, according to the Asahi Shimbun (Feb. 5).

Earlier on Friday, Nobuo Toyosumi was scheduled to receive a dialysis treatment at a hospital. When he did not arrive at the appointed time, the hospital contacted another relative who then telephoned the boy.

After claiming to arrive home to check the situation, the boy then contacted police to say that he had found the bodies of his grandparents inside the home.

The boy is the son of their daughter. He was adopted by them a few years ago.
