KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested an organzied crime boss for fraudulently obtaining a loan to purchase a luxury vehicle, reports TBS News (Oct. 15).
In 2012, Jin Miyaji, a 50-year-old boss of a second-tier gang of the Yamaguchi-gumi, is alleged to have provided false information related to his income and occupation to a credit company in order to receive a loan of approximately four million yen for the purchase of a Mercedes Benz vehicle.
Miyaji, who has been charged with fraud, admits to the allegations.
On Thursday morning, investigators searched the gang’s headquarters in Yokohama in search of evidence connected to the case. Since the dissolution of the Yamaguchi-gumi last month, the search is the first of an office affiliated with the gang in Kanagawa Prefecture.
