KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a male Chinese national for allegedly mugging a high school girl in Yokohama City two years ago.
In 2024, Li Sen, 27, allegedly punched the girl multiple times in the face on a street in Naka Ward and stealing her wallet containing 40,000 yen in cash.
The girl suffered injuries that required two weeks to heal, police said.
Upon his arrest, Li partially denied the allegations. He said, “I didn’t hit her.”
At the time of the incident, the girl was walking home from her part-time job when Li approached her from behind. After he blocked her way, he suddenly assaulted her.
Li was identified through an examination of security camera footage shot in the area and other means.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
