Osaka cops seize 20 illegal slot machines in Minami raid

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police seized nearly two dozen pachinko slot machines in the bust an illegal parlor in the busy Minami district of Osaka City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 26).

At around 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday, police raided parlor Good and arrested six male and female employees, including 28-year-old Ryusei Hashimoto of Chuo Ward.

They also seized 20 illegal pachi suro (pachinko slot) machines.

Police did not reveal whether the suspects admit to provision of illegal gambling.

Several customers at the parlor at the time of the raid were also arrested red-handed on suspicion of gambling.

Police believe that Hashimoto and his associates were making customers bet at higher rates than usual. The investigation is ongoing, including into the flow of money.
