OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly brokering prostitution for multiple women, including teenage runaways, reports the Sankei Shimbun (April 26).
Between June of 2014 and August of last year, Yuji Kameyama used Internet message boards to provide male customers for three female prostitutes, aged between 19 and 24.
The women, who were bound to agreements to engage in prostitution, lived in his residence, located in the Imafukunishi area of Joto Ward. The suspect also had similar arrangements with five underage girls who had run away from home.
Kameyama, who has been charged with contracting prostitution, denies the allegations. “They entered into prostitution on their own,” the suspect is quoted by officers from the Joto Police Station.
The matter came to light in November, when a 19-year-old girl under control of the suspect visited the Joto Police Station to lodge a complaint.
A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence revealed three girls, including a 17-year-old, according to the Mainichi Shimbun (April 27).
It is believed that Kameyama retained the majority of the earnings of the women.
