OSAKA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Tuesday announced the bust of a mail order business operating from Osaka’s Moriguchi City for the sale of uncensored pornographic DVDs, reports the Sankei Shimbun (May 14).
Officers took the manager of the operation, a 68-year-old Korean national, and five other employees into custody for the possession and distribution of obscene media with the intent to sell. Officers also seized 20,000 DVDs and 17 dubbing machines from a factory in Neyagawa City.
By law, films available and made in Japan are required to have genitalia properly censored.
According to police, the operation marketed 90,000 titles on the Internet, with one disc selling for as low as 200 yen. Since starting two years ago, the operation generated 432 million yen in revenue.
