AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police have launched an investigation after a woman was stabbed and robbed on a street in Nagoya’s Minato Ward, reports TV Asahi (Mar. 13).
At around 8:00 p.m., the woman, 59, telephoned emergency services, saying “I’ve been stabbed from behind.” The woman suffered minor injuries to the right side of her lower back and her left breast. Her head was also grazed.
According to police, the woman was walking home when an unknown assailant came up from behind and stabbed her. He also grabbed a shoulder bag containing a purse. “It sounded like he fled on a bicycle,” the woman was quoted by police.
Police later found the bag, which had been emptied of its cash, and a fruit knife near the scene of the crime.
