KYOTO (TR) – A vehicle burst into flames after it was struck by a train at a railway crossing in the town of Seika on Saturday morning, authorities said, reports NHK (Dec. 20).
At just after 11:00 a.m., a passersby alerted emergency services after the car was struck by a limited express train on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line at the railroad crossing between Komada and Shin-Hosono stations.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to extinguish the blaze that erupted inside the vehicle after the collision.

Footage shot by commuters at Shin-Hosono Station shortly after the impact show flames and smoke coming from the vehicle and engulfing the railway.
Footage provided by NHK shows the vehicle and the front end of the train to be charred black.
Police and fire departments are currently investigating whether there were any injuries. The details of the incident are under investigation.
